P-Protein-Producing Cells of the Primary Root of Vicia Faba

Abstract

Newcomb (1967) reported the occurrence of P-protein in the differentiating pro cambial cells which border the protophloem elements in the main and lateral roots of Phaseolus vulgaris. Similar cells, found in the primary roots of seedlings of V icia faba, are described here.
