Shale Gas Exploration

Pål Haremo is a Norwegian citizen and has 24 years’ industry experience. He holds a PhD in Structural Geology from the University of Oslo in Norway. Pål started his professional career as an exploration geologist in Norsk Hydro in 1990. Until 2002, he worked as geologist, seismic interpreter and Exploration Manager in most of the basins on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. In 2002, still working with Norsk Hydro, he was appointed Chief Geologist for Global Exploration, changing his professional focus towards exploration opportunities outside Norway. From 2005–2007, he held the position as Exploration Manager for North Africa with location Tripoli, Libya. In 2007, Pål was appointed Chief Geologist in the merged StatoilHydro organisation. In 2009, he was appointed Vice President Exploration in Statoil, and has since then headed various exploration units with responsibility for access to new opportunities globally, including unconventionals. On September 1st 2013, Pål was appointed VP Exploration International East Australasia and Unconventional Assets in Statoil. He is located in Oslo, Norway.
