Abstract
Ageing oil and gas infrastructure, responsible for over 70% of global production, faces increasing economic pressures. Ensuring the safe, reliable and profitable operation of these assets is crucial for meeting current energy demands while the world transitions to cleaner energy sources. A common misconception is that older assets are inherently less reliable and more costly. In reality, their simpler, more robust equipment and extensive performance history offer opportunities for highly effective maintenance strategies. This inherent advantage can be leveraged to create a competitive edge. This abstract presents dss+’s integrated asset integrity and reliability framework, outlining key strategies for maximising the value of mature assets. These include safety and production-critical equipment strategies, asset life extension risk assessments, optimised maintenance and reliability processes, turnaround excellence and continuous improvement methodologies. Case studies will demonstrate how dss+ has partnered with oil and gas companies to achieve significant results, including a 50% reduction in corrective maintenance, improved mean time between failure, enhanced operational stability and reduced unplanned shutdowns, leading to increased revenue.
