Abstract

The ephydrid genus Hydrellia is represented in Australia by 15 species. Four of the five previously known species (H. tritici Coquillett, H. victoria Cresson, H. huttoni Cresson and H. unigena Cresson) are natives, whereas the fifth (H. williamsi Cresson) was originally described from Hawaii. Ten species are described as new.
