Gorgon Project - Chevron Australia Pty Ltd

Colin is General Manager, Greater Gorgon Area, with asset management accountabilities including the AUD$52 billion Gorgon Foundation Project, and the Gorgon Expansion Project. He has more than 35 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. Initially based in the UK, he was involved with the development of major field developments before relocating to Australia in 1988.

Since then he has been involved with major projects in Australia and PNG. Colin joined Chevron Australia in 2000 as Strategic Planning Manager, then General Manager, Technical Services and General Manager, Venture Gas before assuming the role of General Manager, Greater Gorgon Area in 2005. In that time he has led the Gorgon Project through to FID in 2009 and through the first three years of its execution.

Colin has a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK and is Chancellor of Curtin University. He previously served on the Board of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA). Additionally, Colin is a member of the Scitech Board, the WA Technology and Industry Advisory Council, the Resources Sector Suppliers Advisory Forum, and the UWA Oceans Institute Advisory Board.
