Towards a continuum of care around chemsex issues. Providing and stimulating chemsex related interventions

Ingrid Bakker , Leon Knoops

Abstract

Drug use and injecting in a sexual setting seems to have risen significantly within certain parts of the Dutch MSM population over the last few years. In response, Mainline foundation has been offering several harm reduction interventions directly targeting MSM, like IEC materials, a website about crystal meth, support groups and online and face-to-face outreach. Among professionals working with MSM Mainline advocates for the development of a continuum of care by building networks, training professionals and organising expert meetings. The continuum begins with prevention for all MSM involved in chemsex, and ends with appropriate treatment where needed.
