Abstract

A systematic account is presented ofthe species of Riekoperla McLellan. To the 13 previously described species and subspecies, which are all considered valid, 14 new species are added: Riekoperla angusta, R. barringtonensis, R. citrea, R. compressa, R. cornuta, R. elongata, R. hynesorum, R. intermedia, R. isosceles, R. montana, R. perkinsi, R. serrata, R. trapeza, and R. zwicki. All new species and the hitherto undescribed male of Riekoperla reticulata (Kimmins) are described in detail. Descriptive history and additional information are given for the previously known taxa. Genital structures of all species and larval characters of some species are illustrated. These features suggest a subdivision of Riekoperla into four species-groups.
