Bomolochids (Copepoda, Bomolochidae) Found on the Australian Bream, Acanthopagrus Spp.

Abstract

Three species are described: Bomolochus stocki Roubal, 1981 from Acanthopagrus butcheri (Munro), A. australis (Gunther), A. berda (Forskal) and A, latus (Houttuyn); Pseudoeucanthus spinosus, sp. nov. from A. latus; Holobomolochus australiensis, sp. nov. from A. australis and A. berda. A proposal is made to relegate Unicolax chrysophryenus Roubal et al., 1983 to Bomolochus chrysophryenus. The host specificity and zoogeography of all parasites is discussed.
