Fire regimes are shifting as the climate continues to change, and fires of record-breaking extent, severity and frequency are occurring around the world. The complex relationship between plants and fire, and the interplay with human management of ecosystems, means it is becoming increasingly important to understand responses and resilience of plants under different elements of fire regime shift. This Special Collection of Australian Journal of Botany welcomes papers that help us to understand variation and limits of response in plants and their traits. Topics include, but are not limited to, responses to shifts in fire regime elements (including severity, seasonality, frequency and their interactions) for plants and their populations, plant communities and their assemblage, variation in recovery trajectories and threatened species management.
All submissions can be submitted through the ScholarOne Manuscripts Submission Portal. If you have any queries, please contact the Guest Editors or the Australian Journal of Botany editorial team.
Submission Deadline: 30th September 2025
