Australian Journal of Chemistry – Best Paper Award

The Australian Journal of Chemistry is proud to announce the establishment of the Australian Journal of Chemistry Best Paper Award, to be announced for the first time in 2026. This award recognises outstanding research published in the journal that significantly advances the field of chemistry.

Purpose of the Award

This award celebrates excellence in chemical research and highlights papers that demonstrate originality, scientific rigour, and relevance to the journal’s scope. It aims to acknowledge authors whose work contributes meaningfully to the advancement of chemical science globally.

Scope of the Journal

The Australian Journal of Chemistry publishes research across all areas of chemistry, including but not limited to:

  • Analytical, physical, and theoretical chemistry
  • Inorganic and organic synthesis
  • Supramolecular and materials chemistry
  • Chemical biology and medicinal chemistry
  • Environmental and sustainable chemistry

Eligibility

All original research articles published in the journal during the calendar year are automatically considered for the award. Review articles and editorials are not eligible.

Selection Criteria

The winning paper will be selected by the journal’s editorial team based on:

  • Scientific excellence and innovation
  • Impact and relevance to the field
  • Quality of presentation and clarity of communication

Award Details

The award will be announced annually.

The primary author of the winning paper will receive a certificate and a complimentary one-year subscription to the journal and a $250 CSIRO Publishing Book Voucher.

The winning paper will be featured prominently on the journal’s website and promoted through CSIRO Publishing channel.
