Abstract
As operating companies continue to focus on projects with shorter payback periods, quick-to-market potential and cost discipline, shallow water opportunities are becoming more attractive. Jackup rigs offer clear advantages for shallow water operations, particularly in terms of operational load transfer compared to light well intervention vessels equipped with a riser system or semi-submersibles. Shallow water challenges for operators can include trapped or uneconomic assets and, in some instances, product incompatibility with the nearest host. By leveraging the Shallow Water iEPCI™ ecosystem, companies can achieve faster project execution, reduced costs and enhanced operational efficiency. The integration of hardware and software systems ensures a streamlined approach, minimising complexities and maximising productivity. This approach not only addresses the challenges of shallow water operations but also provides a comprehensive solution that enhances safety and performance in offshore environments. TechnipFMC has successfully executed several projects using this approach across the world including Australia. The content will explore the benefits of the Shallow Water iEPCI™ ecosystem, with pre-engineered products designed for short project cycles to save time and complexity with seamless hardware and software systems integration using case studies. This ecosystem integrates a portfolio of smart standard products and systems, including shallow water trees, flexible pipes and manifolds that are fit for purpose, lighter in weight and provide reduced intervention cycles to improve offshore safety. There are clear percentage project cycle time and cost savings improvements to be articulated.
