Abstract

The Karratha Life Extension (KLE) Project is a comprehensive, multi-billion-dollar program initiated in 2013 to extend the life of the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) asset, managing integrity and reliability risks of ageing facilities reaching the end of design life. The scale of the program represents a significant investment in the North West Shelf (NWS) Project by Woodside and the NWS Joint Venture Participants to underpin the ongoing safe and reliable production of the NWS fields and third-party gas processing, which commenced commercial operations in 2022. Encompassing over 400 projects, the program has involved upgrading, replacing and refurbishing existing infrastructure and equipment.
