Abstract

In June 1991 a member of a large extended family living on a small hobby farm near Oberon, NSW contacted the Orana and Far West Public Health Unit for advice about the family's bore water supply. Tests conducted on water drawn from a bore on the property showed that it contained 38 mg/L nitrate (as nitrogen) and was unfit to drink.
