Shiying Zhu is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Chemistry at the Bio21 Institute, University of Melbourne. His research interests are membrane-active antimicrobial peptides and he specializes in the determination of peptide structure in lipid model membranes and in live cells using NMR spectroscopy, so as to reveal the self-assembly process of antimicrobial peptides as they disrupt bacterial membranes.
