Proceedings of the Royal Society of Victoria publishes original research papers, review articles and short communications that are peer reviewed. The Society invites contributions for the Proceedings from authors across the various disciplines of biological, physical and earth sciences, including multidisciplinary research, and on issues concerning technology and the applied sciences. Contributions on topics that are relevant to Victoria and the south-eastern Australian region are encouraged. The journal also publishes Special Issues and themed collections of papers commissioned by the Council of the Royal Society of Victoria. It is published online in May and November.
Acceptance of manuscripts is the responsibility of the Editor-in-chief in consultation with the Editorial Board. All manuscripts are subject to a formal process of peer review and are considered on the understanding that they are the result of original research that has not appeared, and will not appear, elsewhere in substantially the same form.
When preparing a manuscript for publication, authors should follow as closely as possible the journal style and layout, which can be inspected in an issue online. Detailed guidelines are set out in the Author Instructions.
Note: Royal Society of Victoria’s Proceedings 1854 to 2006 are available online, free of cost, for personal use at the State Library of Victoria in their ‘Digitised Collections´.
There are no page charges for Proceedings of the Royal Society of Victoria.
The journal is published online and a limited number of hard copies are available from the publisher at a cost of $AU50 (plus GST) per issue provided the order is placed before online publication (1 May and 1 November).
