The genus Lagenocypsela (Asteraceae, Astereae) in New Guinea

Abstract

The new genus Lugenocypsela Swenson & K. Bremer is described. The genus comprises two species, with the new combinations Lagenocypsela latifolia (Mattf.) Swenson & K. Bremer, based on Ischnea latifolia Mattf., and Lugenocypsela papuana (J. Kost.) Swenson & K. Bremer, based on Rhamphogyne papuana J. Kost. A key, descriptions, illustrations and distribution maps to both species are included.
