Abstract

The title compounds, together with the tetramethyl derivatives, o-phenylenebis(dimethy1amine) and o-phenylenebis(dimethylarsine), and a series of dissymmetrical diarsines and 4-substituted o-phenyl- enediarsines have been subjected to electron bombardment at 70 eV. The nitrogen compounds show fragmentation patterns corresponding to those found for aniline and its N-substituted derivatives. The diarsines undergo simple stepwise loss of alkyl substituent radicals and, in the case of the halogen and phenyl arsenic substituted compounds, undergo migration of these groups and combination reactions with arsenic containing ions.
