Remembering Roger F. C. Brown: A Personal Note on the Development of Pyrolysis as a Synthetic and Mechanistic Technique in Organic Chemistry

U. E. Wiersum received his Ph.D. degree in 1968 under the supervision of Professor Hans Wynberg at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. After a post-doctoral term with Fred Bordwell at Northwestern University in 1969, he returned to The Netherlands to join AKZO-Nobel, Arnhem, and retired in 1998. He promoted FVP to solve fundamental and industrial problems.
