The Preparation of Some Surface Active Alcohols Containing the Anthracene Nucleus

Abstract

The preparation of a series of homologous alcohols incorporating the anthracene nucleus is described and discussed. Certain of their physical properties, notably, surface activity and fluorescent behaviour, are examined qualitatively.
