The synthesis of 7,8-Dihydrobenzo[4,5]cyclohepta[1,2,3-de]naphthalene and a derivative of Cyclohepta[opqr]benzo[c]phenanthrene

Abstract

7,8-Dihydrobenzo[4,5]cyclohepta[1,2,3-de]naphthalene has been prepared, and attempts to dehydrogenate this are discussed. The synthesis of a derivative of cyclohepta[opqr]benzo[c]phenanthrene is also described.
