Abstract
U.V. irradiation of 2-methoxynaphthalene gives besides the trans-dimer (1) a ketone, for which the cis structure (3) is proposed on spectral and chemical grounds. Ketone (4) is similarly obtained from 2-ethoxynaphthalene.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9740227
