The synthesis of 2-Phenyl-2-imidazoline via a dithionamide intermediate

Abstract

2-Phenyl-2-imidazoline is prepared by the reaction between N,N?- ethylenebisthiobenzamide and ethylenediamine in the presence of mercuric oxide. Some new crystalline derivatives (I^-, NCS^-,Co(NCS)₄^2- and Zn(NCS)₄^2-) have been prepared and characterized.
