Metal template reactions. IX. Syntheses of 'dibenzocorromin' and related complexes from 2,2'-(Iminoprop-2-enylideneimino)dibenzaldehyde

Abstract

Macrocyclic metal complexes containing ligand chromophores similar to that of corrin have been synthesized by metal template reactions of 2,2'-(iminoprop-2-enylideneimino)dibenzadehyde (5) with nicke1(11), copper(11) or cobalt(11) acetates and diamines. The dialdehyde (5) was prepared by condensation of o-aminobenzaldehyde with malondialdehyde.
