Bis(thioimidates): Structure and Reactivity

Abstract

Dimethyl N,N'-ethylenebis(thiobenzimidate), dimethyl N,N'-trimethylenebis(thiobenzimidate), N,N'-di[morpholino(phenyl)methylene]ethane-1,2-diamine, N,N'-di[morpholino(phenyl)methylene]- propane-1,3-diamine, and the zinc complex of dimethyl N,N'-ethylenebis(thiobenzimidate) have been synthesized and characterized by melting point, microanalysis, and infrared and mass spectral analysis. The N.M.R. spectra of the thiobenzimidates are discussed in terms of the various possible isomers resulting from restricted rotation within the thioimidate group.
