New nine-membered ring diterpenes from the brown alga Dictyota prolificans

Abstract

Five new diterpenes, related to 'dictyodial' (7), have been isolated from the brown alga Dictyota prolificans. The gross structures and, where possible, stereochemistry were solved by spectral methods and comparison of ¹³C n.m.r. data with those of dictyodial.
