The Synthesis of 1,10-Phenanthroline Esters Containing Unsaturated C₁₈ Side Chains

Abstract

Octadeca-6,9,12-trienyl 3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline-2-carboxylate and 3,7,8-tri-methyl- 1,10-phenanthrolin-4-ylmethyl octadeca-9,12,15-trienoate have been synthesized. Furthermore, two series of 1,10-phenanthroline esters substituted in the 2-position with C₁₈ unsaturated side chains have also been synthesized.
