CH12340Effects of Some Multivalent Ions on Coagulation and Electrokinetic Behaviours of Colemanite Particles
The zero point of charge of the colemanite mineral was determined to be at pH 10.2. The effects of multivalent ions on the coagulation of colemanite have been investigated. The ferric ion was more efficient on the coagulation of colemanite suspension than the other ions.
CH12349A Dynamic Route to Structure and Function: Recent Advances in Imine-Based Organic Nanostructured Materials
This review highlights recent progresses in the self-assembly of complex organic molecular architectures that are enabled by dynamic imine chemistry, including molecular containers with defined geometry and size, mechanically interlocked molecules, and extended frameworks and polymers, from building blocks with preprogrammed steric and electronic information.
A peptide–amphiphile comprised of the neuroprotective tripeptide motif glycyl-prolyl-glutamic acid linked to a hydrophobic moiety self-assembles into functional nanoparticles that display short range order and can be dispersed as micrometre-sized particles.
Syntheses of compounds (+)-1 and (–)-1 have been achieved. The physical and spectroscopic data derived from the former do not match those reported for the crinine alkaloid haemultine.
CH12393Natural Product-Inspired Pyranonaphthoquinone Inhibitors of Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase-1 (IDO-1)
Pyranonaphthoquinones exhibit low micromolar inhibition of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-1 (IDO-1). These inhibitors retain activity against the enzyme in a cellular context with an approximate one-log loss of dose potency against IDO-1 in cells. Triazole 8 shows good inhibition of IDO-1 along with little loss of cell viability at low drug concentrations.

The hydrogen-bonding properties of binary systems consisting of a representative lactate-based ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium lactate ([EMIM][LAC]) and a cosolvent, methanol, have been studied by the combined application of FTIR spectroscopy and DFT calculations over the entire concentration.
CH12191Depolymerization of Poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) in Green Solvents: Water and Ionic Liquid
Poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenyleneoxide) (PPO) was depolymerized by adding phenols under oxidative conditions in green solvents. PPO depolymerized to oligomeric products in a faster process in water. In addition to water, an ionic liquid mixture containing the 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation and a mixture of alkylbenzenesulfonate with xylene sulfonate anion was used for the depolymerization of PPO.

Three new 2D copper(ii) complexes were hydrothermally synthesized using a flexible bis(pyridylamide) ligand L as the main ligand and three polycarboxylates as the auxiliary ligands. The fluorescent properties of the three compounds and the electrochemical behaviour of a compound 2-modified carbon paste electrode (2-CPE) were studied.

We present here a simple method and materials to target Co(ii)-Dy(iii) multi-nuclear magnetic compounds. As a result, seven discrete Co(ii)-Dy(iii) compounds with di-, tri-, and tetranuclear structures are prepared.
CH12326Synthesis, Antimicrobial Activity, and Molecular Docking Study of Some Novel Cyclophanes with Imino Intra-Annular Functionality
The synthesis and structural characterisation of novel imino cyclophanes incorporating various spacer units is described. Comparable antibacterial activity against Gram positive (Bacillus subtillus, Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram negative (Escherchia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia) bacterial strains is exhibited along with good antifungal activity against human pathogenic fungus, Candida albicans.
A solid-phase organic synthesis of dexoxadrol analogues with a carbonyl moiety in the 4-position of the piperidine ring has been established. Key steps of the synthesis include an imino-Diels–Alder reaction with Danishefsky’s diene and a conjugate reduction of the double bond using LiBHEt3 in the presence of a Lewis acid.
CH12377Carboxylate-Bridged Dinuclear Dy2 Single-Molecule Magnets: Synthesis, Structure, and Magnetic Studies
We demonstrate here a simple and effective method to access 4f single-molecule magnets (SMM). Further, the relatively fine-tuned SMM properties of compounds 1–3, possibly controlled by the terminal ligands around the metal ions, are highlighted.
A photochard can be utilized in the field, to give an indicatvie concentration of pentachlorophenol (ppm) in natural water samples. A precise concentration can be determined through the use of UV/Vis spectroscopy (either in the field or laboratory), in the range of 2 ppb–1000 ppm, depending on sample treatment.
CH12375A Simple and Sensitive Colorimetric Detection of Silver Ions Based on Cationic Polymer-Directed AuNPs Aggregation
This paper describes a simple and sensitive colorimetric sensor employing single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) ligand, cationic polymer, and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to detect silver ions. The concentration of Ag+ can be determined visually. The method is simple, effective, and convenient and can in principle be used to detect other metal ions or small molecules.
