Abstract

A summary is presented of the distribution patterns of the copepod Gladioferens imparipes Thomson in three estuaries in south-west Western Australia. Field and laboratory evidence is used to support an interpretation of the distribution patterns in terms of predation by two other copepods. A discussion follows of the ecological role of predators which have variety of food sources.
